The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has officially taken charge of the investigation into the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam, sources confirmed. The attack, which occurred on April 22, targeted tourists at the Baisaran meadow in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, resulting in the deaths of 25 Indian nationals and one Nepali citizen, with several others injured.
In response to the attack, the Indian Army has been placed on high alert, conducting multiple search operations aimed at neutralizing the terrorists responsible for the attack. The incident has led to nationwide outrage, with protests demanding stronger action against Pakistan, which is suspected of supporting the terrorists.
In retaliation to the attack, the Indian government has suspended the 1960 Indus Water Treaty, downgraded bilateral relations, and closed the Attari checkpost, signaling its resolve to take a firm stance against Islamabad in the wake of the attack.
